Everything Stays on Your Device

In this version of Niyyah, there is no server, no cloud, and no user accounts. All of the following data is stored locally and never leaves your phone:

• Which apps you choose to gate
• Your Quran reading history and progress
• Gate session history (when you read, what you read, how long)
• Your preferences and settings
• Your streak and learning data

What We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information -- no name, email, or phone number
• No app usage tracking -- we never record which apps you open or when
• No third-party analytics -- no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no trackers of any kind
• No advertising or ad SDKs
• No data sharing -- nothing is sold or shared with anyone
• No user accounts -- in v1, we literally have no way to identify you

Permissions We Ask For

iOS

• Screen Time / Family Controls -- used to manage access to gated apps. Apple processes this data on-device through their own privacy framework.

Android

• Usage Access -- detects when a gated app is opened. Your usage data is processed entirely on-device and never transmitted anywhere.
• Display Over Other Apps -- shows the Quran gate screen when you open a gated app.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.

No Ads, Ever

Niyyah does not show advertisements. We do not include any advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.

The Quran text included in this app is sourced from the Tanzil Project (tanzil.net) under the Creative Commons BY 3.0 license. The English translation is Sahih International.

If Things Change

If we introduce cloud sync, family plans, or any feature that involves sending data off your device in a future version, we will update this policy and ask for your explicit consent before anything changes.
